As the clashes between the Houses of York and Lancaster cost the working families more and more in lives and taxes, a new era dawns in medieval England.
The pressure is higher than ever to ensure a prosperous bloodline.
Young Elizabeth Sheldyke discovers this truth when she is married off to the ageing and heirless master of the Heron estate, but as the years progress and her belly remains flat a seed of fear is planted in the young woman’s mind.
Could she possibly be barren?
When widowhood hits her earlier than most, Elizabeth is taken with the notion of restoring Heron to its former grandeur.
But a deep and passionate love threatens her new found independence when John Kendal sweeps her away in a whirlwind of desire she has never experienced before.
More anxious than ever to have a baby of her own the years fly past Elizabeth on the Heron estate; love grows, feuds break out, war rears its ugly head and her desperation reaches its climax…
The Rich Earth is passionate historical romance set during the Wars of the Roses.
'A memorable read.' - Robert Foster, best-selling author of The Lunar Code.

The Rich Earth Heron Saga eBook Pamela Oldfield
This was one great, complete standalone read with no cliffhangers and shock-value endings. It was well-written and takes you back in time to the Middle Ages - a period of history I have always loved to read about. There is no "modernisation" in this tale - it is pure historical novel Gold. If you read books like 'The Pillars of the Earth', you will like this novel even better. It is an historical romance set in the Middle Ages, depicting the life of a young bride who does her duty to her family, then tries to move towards a life of her own choosing. What if you got that 'second-chance' shot at the love of your life? Would it be the right choice? Do you cross your fingers and hope for the best? Read the book and find out if true love wins in a startlingly realistic jolly olde England. I am RegentX, and I endorse this book (fingers crossed and hoping the author will make a few more like them).Product details

The Rich Earth Heron Saga eBook Pamela Oldfield Reviews
An interesting Tudor era tale of the emerging middle class. The ending was more a "to be continued" than a conclusion, and was abrupt at that.
loved it
I loved the books but was upset that I had to buy another to know how it ended. I will only get book that doesn't take two to finish I figured Brady was father anyways as M@ttie was 15 yrs old. Didn't take a rocket scientest to get it
Fairly well written book replete with spelling and grammar errors. The story is engaging. The period misogyny was portrayed well, although it is disheartening to realize that women of the time really did have no rights or personal freedom, not even self determination of their lives.
